The Protoss are great mentalists. Featuring highly advanced technology and powerful psionic abilities - the Protoss once saw themselves as the most powerful force in the galaxy. However their war against the Zerg dragged on, and on and they are starting to realize that even the most powerful warrior - cannot defeat swarms and swarms of opponents. The Protoss are a philosophical and intellectual race. Tradition is valued highly and they stick to it religiously. However, as the Zerg invade their homeworld of Aiur, the Protoss must make a decision to ignore much of their traditional methods and embrace change - if they want to survive this war. New technologies, new tactics, and new warriors are being unveiled as the Protoss begin to become desperate in their battle against the Zerg. There is also dark rumours of ancient weapons that were never meant to be used, that are being prepared for war.
The Protoss, while being very mighty have never been particularly prolific and have often resorted to using robotic war machines to boost their battle numbers. An individual Protoss warrior is unmatchable alone, but with the enhancement of technology and psionic strength - the Protoss are a highly formidable fighting force. However, since they are still greatly down in numbers: The Protoss must rely on mobility and surprise in order to maximize their advantage without ending up fighting a battle of attrition (which they would surely lose). The Protoss are fortunate in that they boast a very powerful fleet, with ships that have enough fire power to blast an enemy into star dust!

- Photon Cannons attack both land and air as well as being detectors

- Buildings must be placed in range of a Pylon to be functional
- Damaged buildings and units can not be repaired
- Injured units can not be healed
